The Mountain View Christian Saints fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Liberty Baptist Academy Knights on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 46-44. Mountain View Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Leading Liberty Baptist Academy to victory were Brandon Kiel and Bruce Delgado. Kiel scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three steals, while Delgado scored seven points along with five steals. Delgado is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Duran, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Mountain View Christian's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.6 points per game. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.
