The Pisgah Dragons''s three-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They blew past McLaurin 53-14 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Pisgah's eight-point performance the contest before.
Pisgah got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Paxton Cottingham out in front who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Cottingham is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Rusty McCollum was another key contributor, rushing for 63 yards and two touchdowns.
Pisgah's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for McLaurin, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pisgah will face off against Puckett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for McLaurin, they will head out on the road to face off against Noxubee County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Noxubee County's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games.
