The Bloomington North Cougars's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Lowell 59-33. The result was nothing new for Bloomington North, who have now won four contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
Mia Robbennolt continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Reitmeyer, who scored 13 points.
When it comes to explaining why Lowell lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elysia Laub. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Laub continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Bloomington North's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Lowell, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.
Bloomington North will finish 2023 at home by hosting Mooresville at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mooresville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Bloomington North likes a good challenge. Lowell won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Greenfield-Central at 9:00 a.m. on December 28, 2023. Greenfield-Central is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
