The Ridgeline Riverhawks waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They took down Sky View 57-43. Given Ridgeline's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Sky View is ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson Cox continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jagger Francom, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Sky View lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Macade Rolle, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Liam Guthrie, who scored 14 points.
Ridgeline's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. As for Sky View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Ridgeline will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ridgeline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. As for Sky View, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Green Canyon at 7:00 p.m.
