Wilsonville is 9-1 against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wilsonville Wildcats will play host again and welcome the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs, where tip off is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wilsonville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Wilsonville made easy work of Putnam and carried off a 62-39 win. Given Wilsonville's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while Putnam is ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilsonville found their leader in underclassman Gabi Moultrie, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. Moultrie hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Ratcliffe, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts was beaten by La Salle 72-33 on Friday.
Wilsonville pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Wilsonville against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 95-25 victory.
