The Newark Collegiate Academy Panthers took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 63-51 win over Millburn. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Newark Collegiate Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Millburn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Noah Ravitz. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The contest was Ravitz's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chase Plotkin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds.
Newark Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 1-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Millburn, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Newark Collegiate Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Montclair at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Millburn will finish 2023 at home by hosting Governor Livingston at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
