Colin Ames was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Ames was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy let Tyler Ooten and Joey Shafer run wild. Purcell Marian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ronan Ribar, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Eddie Mohr also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Purcell Marian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
