The Point Arena Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Round Valley 89-37 at home. Point Arena has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 29 points or more this season.
Point Arena's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dauki Bechtol, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bechtol has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Derek Billy, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
The victory (which was Point Arena's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points per game. As for Round Valley, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Point Arena will head out on the road to take on Potter Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Potter Valley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Round Valley, they will be playing at home against Anderson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anderson Valley has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
