If the Santa Rita Eagles were riding high off their 86-60 takedown of the Catalina Trojans last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Santa Rita ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-50 walloping at the hands of Desert View on Monday. Santa Rita was down 61-38 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Santa Rita still got an impressive performance from Fabian Noperi JR, who scored 25 points.
Santa Rita's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Desert View, their win ended a 17-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-22.
Santa Rita won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Willcox at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Santa Rita is facing Willcox at the right time seeing as Willcox is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Desert View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
