Steubenville is 6-1 against Edison since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Big Red will venture away from home to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Edison took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Steubenville, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Steubenville needed a bit of extra time to put away University. They skirted past the Hawks 5-4. The Big Red haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Isabella Cadile spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Sadie Edwards was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Edison unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against Oak Glen, falling 11-1. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Edison saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alivia Hanlin, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Steubenville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Steubenville hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Edison struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Steubenville got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Edison by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Big Red since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
