It was a good run, but the Chaska Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 48-38 to Eden Prairie. While losing is never fun, Chaska can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Eden Prairie is ranked sixth).
Eden Prairie was led to victory by Ella Hardwick and Rae Ehrman. Hardwick scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, while Ehrman scored 19 points along with eight rebounds. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Tori Schlagel was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Chaska's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Eden Prairie, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Chaska will be playing at home against Shakopee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shakopee is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Eden Prairie, they will take on Chanhassen at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Chanhassen's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
