The Savannah Country Day Hornets lost against the Groves Rebels back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Savannah Country Day fell just short of Groves by a score of 50-47. Savannah Country Day has struggled against Groves recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stone Wells, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Andrew Nicholson was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
Savannah Country Day has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Groves, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah Country Day will challenge Long County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Long County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Groves' road trip will continue as they head out to face Calvary Day at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Calvary Day is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
