The Nebraska Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-40 to Sutton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nebraska Christian has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Nebraska Christian still got an impressive performance from Micah Perdew, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Perdew scored a full 52.5% of Nebraska Christian's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Nathan Bashige was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds.
Nebraska Christian bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Sutton, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nebraska Christian will challenge St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis' defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Nebraska Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Nebraska Christian. Sutton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Centura at 7:45 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
