It was a good run, but the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 72-26 loss at the hands of Deer Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain Ridge has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Mountain Ridge still got an impressive performance from Andy Saeva, who scored ten points. Saeva also posted two blocks for the first time this season.
Mountain Ridge bumped their record down to 7-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Deer Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Ridge is on the road again on Thursday and play against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th. Westwood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Deer Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arcadia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Deer Valley is ranked 23rd).
