The Classical Saints's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past Centre, posting a 69-41 win on the road. Given Classical's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Centre is ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Classical got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Wilkey out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Charlie Graham, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Classical pushed their record up to 9-2 with that win, which was their 13th straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Centre, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Classical will look to defend their home court on Friday against Solomon at 8:00 p.m. As for Centre, they will head out on the road to take on Peabody-Burns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Peabody-Burns focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
