Conemaugh Valley is 8-2 against Ferndale since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Conemaugh Valley Blue Jays will be playing at home against the Ferndale Yellow Jackets at 4:30 p.m. Conemaugh Valley will be strutting in after a victory while Ferndale will be coming in after a defeat.
Conemaugh Valley gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They blew past Purchase Line 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Jays.
Wes Smith and Lance Masser made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Smith pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Masser didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-low in earned runs (zero). At the plate, Smith scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Masser went 2-for-5 with three RBI. What's more, Smith posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Logan Heinlein was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Jeremy Dietz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Conemaugh Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Purchase Line only posted a batting average of .148.
Meanwhile, Ferndale lost a heartbreaker to Rockwood when they met back in May of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Ferndale lost 12-1 to Rockwood. The loss continues a trend for the Yellow Jackets in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost eight in a row.
Ferndale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Conemaugh Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Everything went Conemaugh Valley's way against Ferndale in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Conemaugh Valley made off with an 8-2 victory. Does Conemaugh Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ferndale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
