Huntingdon is 1-9 against Philipsburg-Osceola since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bearcats will challenge the Mountaineers at 10:00 a.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Philipsburg-Osceola will be up against a hot Huntingdon team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Everything went the Bearcats' way against Bedford on Tuesday as they made off with a 10-3 victory.

Connor Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Moore was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bowden Woodward, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dom Peruso, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
Huntingdon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Philipsburg-Osceola got the win against Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Mountaineers, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Huntingdon, Philipsburg-Osceola also got a great game from a two-way player: Archer Baughman. On the mound, he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Baughman was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sam McDonald was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Parker Lamb was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Huntingdon's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both Huntingdon and Philipsburg-Osceola just can't seem to miss. The Bearcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Philipsburg-Osceola struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits.
