The Holy Cross Cougars will take on the Eastern Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Thursday. Holy Cross blew past Bullitt Central 19-4. Holy Cross hasn't had any issues with Bullitt Central recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Taylor Fint made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Fint was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three doubles, four RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Piersan Shrader, who went 5-for-6 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Priddy, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple.
Meanwhile, Eastern posted their closest win since April 30, 2025 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Atherton 8-6.
Eastern let Madisyn Longworth and Gracie Jeffcoat run wild. Longworth went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Jeffcoat went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Jaylin McGregor was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Holy Cross' victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Eastern, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Holy Cross got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 against Eastern by a conclusive 23-3 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
