Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Howland). Everything went their way against the Columbiana Clippers on Thursday as they made off with an 18-10 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Brooke Tatar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Howland got a massive performance out of Mary Moy, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave Moy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madison Schmitz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

As for Columbiana, they moved to 18-6 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.
Howland and Columbiana should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Tigers will face off against Harding at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (131 vs. 471).
