Trinity Prep hasn't had much luck against Master's Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Saints will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Trinity Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past Lake Highland Prep 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Saints considering their two-run performance the match before.

Alton Gunther made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Gunther was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Matias Morales was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Robinson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Trinity Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Master's Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Father Lopez with a sharp 14-3 victory on Tuesday.
Like Trinity Prep, Master's Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: James Rudolph. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Rudolph has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sawyer Smith was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Julian Mercado was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Trinity Prep is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Master's Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Trinity Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Master's Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
