Tokay hasn't had much luck against Lodi recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tigers will challenge the Flames at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It was a proper cat-fight when Tokay challenged Weston Ranch on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Cougars 17-1. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Brooklyn Jeremic-Schaede 2027 made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Ava Pasqualicchio 2028 was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April. Emma Misasi 2025 was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Tokay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Lodi waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Jaguars an 11-0 shutout.
Like Tokay, Lodi also got a great game from a two-way player: Ashlyn Jubrey. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. Jubrey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abby Schweigerdt, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Taylor Blank, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Tokay pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Lodi, their record now sits at 19-6.
Tokay's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's matchup. The Tigers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Lodi, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Tokay continue to outrun the ball?
Tokay might still be hurting after the 21-1 defeat they got from Lodi in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
