The Sabetha Bluejays will face off against the Perry-Lecompton Kaws at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Perry-Lecompton will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Sabetha extended their winning streak to six on Monday. The Bluejays came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against Nemaha Central. While the Bluejays didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Emerson Strahm looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Regan Hasenkamp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Jyllian Stapleton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Perry-Lecompton let Holton stack five runs on them in the fourth inning on Monday but luckily Perry-Lecompton prevailed anyway. The Kaws came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 8-7. That's two games straight that the Kaws have won by just one run.
Olivia Hart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macie Corcoran, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Paxton Damme, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Perry-Lecompton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Sabetha's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Perry-Lecompton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Perry-Lecompton's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sabetha has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Perry-Lecompton, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Sabetha's sizable advantage in that area, the Kaws will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sabetha got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Perry-Lecompton by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Bluejays repeat their success, or do the Kaws have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
