There's no place like home for the Mater Brickell Academy Bulls, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They snuck past IMG Academy White with a 44-39 victory on Saturday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Mater Brickell Academy has scored all year.
Mater Brickell Academy found their leader in underclassman Antonio Medina, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Medina scored 15 or more points. Kwabena Jones was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mater Brickell Academy now has a winning record of 3-2. As for IMG Academy White, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Mater Brickell Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Westwood Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Westwood Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 450 points over their last seven matches. IMG Academy White will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
