The Cypress Falls Eagles will face off against the Cy-Fair Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Cy-Fair will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Cypress Falls extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Eagles enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over Stratford.

Cypress Falls' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gabriel Wilson, who rushed for 182 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Wilson is now averaging an impressive 104.6 rushing yards per game. Another rusher making a difference was Deron Simpson, who gained 203 total yards and a touchdown.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cypress Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 426 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Cypress Falls' defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: James Harris, Casen Warren, and Liam Madkins, who each picked up one sack apiece. Harris was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Cy-Fair duked it out with Cypress Creek on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 52-32 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Cy-Fair's win came from a few key players Cypress Falls will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Arnell Fontenot, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has become a key player for Cy-Fair: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Sean Riegler, who threw for 186 yards and one TD.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Cy-Fair, adding 22 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaden Vaughn, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown. Another bright spot was a punt return touchdown from him.
Cypress Falls' win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Cy-Fair, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Cypress Falls has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 210 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Cy-Fair has preferred to attack from the air: they average 269 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
