After four games on the road, Winfield is heading back home. They will take on the Carbon Hill Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Winfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Winfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 67-45 margin over Fayette County. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Winfield has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Carbon Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to Dora. While losing is never fun, Carbon Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Dora is ranked 124th).
Winfield's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Carbon Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Winfield didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carbon Hill in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 39-33 victory. Will Winfield repeat their success, or does Carbon Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
