Basketball Recap: Freedom Piles Up the Points Against Innovation

There's no place like home for Freedom, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They blew past the Innovation Bulls, posting a 79-44 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Freedom was led to victory by Riccardo Palombarini and Adam Negede. Palombarini went 7 of 10 on his way to 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals, while Negede went 8 for 14 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Negede a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Guzman, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds.

Freedom was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Innovation lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Max Lange, who had eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadis Santamaria, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and three steals.

With the win, Freedom broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-6. As for Innovation, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Freedom will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tavares at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Innovation and Trinity Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
