Bernalillo took the matchup and then some with a 50-0 win last Saturday over Albuquerque Academy. Senior Adam Abeyta, who rushed for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Bernalillo's success.
Meanwhile, Shiprock took a serious blow against Navajo Prep, falling 8-54. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Shiprock.
Bernalillo's victory lifted them to 3-0 while Shiprock's loss dropped them down to 0-2. The Bernalillo defense got after the quarterback against Albuquerque Academy to the tune of 5 sacks, so Shiprock's offensive line better have put in some good practice this past week in preparation for the contest.
