CORNELIUS, N.C. - Special teams carried
Hough (Cornelius, N.C.) to a 73-0 victory over Robinson (Concord, N.C.) on Saturday as the return units contributed three touchdowns. The special teams of the Huskies scored on a kick return and two punt returns.
After taking the lead on a
Tylan Murrell touchdown run in the first quarter, Hough led 49-0 at the half.
HHS expanded its lead to 66 points entering the fourth quarter. The Cornelius school scored three times in the third, including once on a field goal by
Tim Gawert.
With the win the Huskies extended their winning streak to six games. Hough defeated Hopewell 42-13 last week.
Murrell was the top performer for Hough. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 12 touchdowns on the season.
HHS entered the contest giving up 20.8 points per game this year.
Hough (6-0) will play a 4A Conference 5 game against Mallard Creek next week, while Robinson (0-6) will take on A.L. Brown also in a 4A Conference 5 game.
