Calvary Lutheran is 3-0 against Columbia Independent since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Calvary Lutheran Lions will head out on the road to square off against Columbia Independent at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Tuscumbia scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Calvary Lutheran still came out on top. Calvary Lutheran snuck past Tuscumbia with a 64-58 victory.
Meanwhile, Columbia Independent was able to grind out a solid win over Missouri Military Academy on Tuesday, taking the game 48-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Columbia Independent.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbia Independent to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deolu Adibiyi, who scored nine points along with two steals. Eric Dirksmeyer was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Calvary Lutheran now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Columbia Independent, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Calvary Lutheran against Columbia Independent in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 63-23 win. With Calvary Lutheran ahead 40-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
