Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Bangor Slaters, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Allentown Central Catholic 35-7 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Bangor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 181st, while Allentown Central Catholic is ranked 20th).
Greg Campbell rushed for 93 yards, and also threw for 75 yards and a touchdown. Mj Siu was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bangor's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Allentown Central Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Bangor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Allentown Central Catholic will look to defend their home field on November 11th against Bethlehem Catholic at 6:05 p.m. Bethlehem Catholic is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
