A Season-Best Performance from Mason Sterling Leads Humboldt over West Franklin
On Friday, Humboldt got the W thanks in part to Mason Sterling playing the best football he has all season. Sterling rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 73 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
The win for Humboldt keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Sterling and Humboldt will look to defend their home field on Friday against Central Heights at 7:00 p.m.

Humboldt Wins Seventh-Straight Thanks to Blake Ellis
Blake Ellis's big game helped extend Humboldt's winning streak to seven on Friday. Ellis wasn't messing around, rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. The contest was his third straight with two or more rushing touchdowns.
For the year, Ellis has thrown 11 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 134.9 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had nine rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 21.

Neodesha had to settle for second on Friday, but Garrett Babcock sure wasn't going down easily. Baxter Springs had no answer to Babcock as he rushed for 153 yards and three touchdowns.
Neodesha dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Babcock and Neodesha will head out on the road to square off against Frontenac at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cole G. Mathes Turns in Season-Best Performance
Humboldt was led to victory by Cole G. Mathes, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. G. Mathes rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also caught a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (3.0 for loss).
On the year, G. Mathes has caught 4 touchdowns while averaging 16.3 receiving yards per game.

Tj Mills Delivers Best Effort of Season
Eureka came up short on Friday despite Tj Mills delivering his best game to date. Mills rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 97-yard run.
For the season, Mills has averaged 21.9 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 11.86 receiving yards per game.
