Basketball Recap: Humble Christian Takes a Loss

Humble Christian was the 42-7 winner over Bob Hope when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Humble Christian Cougars were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 38-37 to the Bob Hope Eagles. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Humble Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ivy Miller, who posted ten points and five steals. Those ten points gave Miller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Deriyah Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Humble Christian now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Bob Hope, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Humble Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Family Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Humble Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Bob Hope, they are taking a road trip to take on Good Samaritan HomeSchool at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have allowed few points on average, (Bob Hope: 29.9, Good Samaritan HomeSchool: 24) so any points scored will be well earned.
