The Casey County Rebels will square off against the Adair County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Casey County has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with six straight defeats, while Adair County will come in with nine straight victories.
Casey County fell victim to Southwestern and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 10-0.
Meanwhile, Adair County made easy work of Glasgow on Thursday and carried off an 11-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jasper Kemp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alex Martin, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Dax Conn was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Adair County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glasgow only managed five.
Adair County's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Casey County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
