Basketball Game Preview: Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors vs. Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams

Mount Zion Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Word of God Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors will look to defend their home court against the Word of God Christian Academy Holy Rams at 7:00 p.m. Mount Zion Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Word of God Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

Meanwhile, Word of God Christian Academy posted their closest win since November 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They skirted past Hargrave Military Academy 58-55. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Holy Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 276th in North Carolina, while the Tigers are ranked 114th in Virginia).

Mount Zion Christian Academy better keep an eye on Brandon Solomon. He was instrumental in Word of God Christian Academy's win, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The contest was Solomon's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Prince N was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

The win made it two in a row for Word of God Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-8. As for Mount Zion Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.

Mount Zion Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Word of God Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, losing 88-69. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Solomon, who went 11 of 15 on his way to 23 points and eight rebounds.
