It was a good run, but the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 59-48 to Lake Country Lutheran. While losing is never fun, Living Word Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Lightning are ranked 80th).
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dailyn Tyler, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tyler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ryde Ehley, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Sam Hans was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds for Lake Country Lutheran. Hans hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Gavin Skrzypchak was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Living Word Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Lake Country Lutheran, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Living Word Lutheran will challenge the Patriots at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Country Lutheran's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on February 5th.
