Basketball Recap: Elkin Piles Up the Points Against Cornerstone Charter

A well-balanced attack led Elkin over Cornerstone Charter in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Elkin Buckin' Elks blew the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals out of the water with a 51-23 final score. The Buckin' Elks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 28 points or more this season.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylen Williamson, who posted six points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamryn Stephens, who earned four points and seven rebounds.

Elkin's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cornerstone Charter, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-7.

Elkin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-17 loss against Galax on the 20th. As for Cornerstone Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-14 defeat against Forbush on the 20th.
