Baseball Recap: Tullahoma Drops Highest Score of Season Against Central Magnet

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tullahoma). Everything went their way against Central Magnet on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Mason Bratcher made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrew Fulmer, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Andrew Zebick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI and one triple.

Tullahoma always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Magnet only posted an OBP of .067.

Tullahoma pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Central Magnet, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tullahoma will challenge Riverdale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Magnet, they will face off against Washburn at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Central Magnet's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
