Andrean is 8-1 against Hobart since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Andrean Fighting 59ers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hobart Brickies at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Andrean's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Hobart has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Andrean, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 73-54 loss to Crown Point. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Andrean in their matchups with Crown Point: they've now lost five in a row.
Meanwhile, Hobart lost to Valparaiso on the road by a decisive 65-50 margin on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Hobart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Valparaiso is ranked 29th).
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Anthony Hnilo and Jack Smiley. Smiley had a great game and scored 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Meanwhile, Hnilo was balling out in the loss, scoring 22 points.
Andrean's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Hobart, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Andrean beat Hobart 50-43 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Hobart's Keith Mullins, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Andrean to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
