The Eunice Bobcats will take on the Rosepine Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eunice is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Eunice will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Kinder, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.
Madelyn Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Eva Sattler was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. De'Miyah Reed was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
DeQuincy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Rosepine proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-3.
Like Eunice, Rosepine also got a great game from a two-way player: Marli Jones25. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Jones25 was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Analeigh Roberts, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Cailyn Evans, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles.
Rosepine hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DeQuincy struck out nine times.
Rosepine's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Eunice, their win bumped their record up to 7-15.
