The Morgan Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 70-49 margin over South Summit. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Morgan has posted against South Summit since February 9, 2021.
Among those leading the charge was Abby Titus, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leah Birkeland, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, South Summit still got an impressive performance from Emma Broadbent, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 18 rebounds. Broadbent is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Maklee Woolstenhulme was another key contributor, scoring six points along with three blocks.
The victory makes it two in a row for Morgan and bumps their season record up to 5-11. As for South Summit, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-6.
Morgan will head out on the road to challenge Ben Lomond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ben Lomond is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for South Summit, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Union at 7:00 p.m. Union is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
