If the WISH Academy Owls were riding high off their 92-31 takedown of the Simon Tech Huskies last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. WISH Academy fell 58-48 to Animo Venice on Monday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for WISH Academy in their matchups with Animo Venice: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Owls players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keith Hartman, who scored 12 points. Noah Tureaud was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Elliot Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Animo Venice, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. The game was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rashad Johnson, who scored 16 points.
WISH Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Animo Venice, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
WISH Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face TEACH Tech Charter at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. TEACH Tech Charter comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Animo Venice, they will be playing at home against Animo Pat Brown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
