The Utica Academy of Science Atoms lost against the Albany Academy for Boys Cadets back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Utica Academy of Science was outmatched by Albany Academy for Boys on the road and fell 87-40. Utica Academy of Science was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-19.
Utica Academy of Science's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Doneilious King j.r, who scored 13 points along with three steals. King j.r hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Bowles, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
Utica Academy of Science's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Albany Academy for Boys, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Utica Academy of Science won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Graphics at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Utica Academy of Science focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. As for Albany Academy for Boys, they will look to defend their home court on Sunday against Graphic Communication Arts at 2:00 p.m. Albany Academy for Boys is coming into the contest with 11 straight wins at home, so Graphic Communication Arts is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
