The Tri-Valley Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tri-Valley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Kutztown scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Tri-Valley still came out on top. Tri-Valley enjoyed a cozy 75-61 win over Kutztown. Given Tri-Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while Kutztown is ranked 630th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Noah Porter was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Leonard, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Marian Catholic can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional by a score of 50-39.
It was another big night for James Rodino, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jesse Rodino, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Tri-Valley's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Marian Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Tri-Valley hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 60.1 points per game. It's a different story for Marian Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 55.1 points per game. The only thing between Tri-Valley and another offensive beatdown is Marian Catholic. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Tri-Valley beat Marian Catholic 56-44 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Marian Catholic's Frank Valente, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Tri-Valley to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
