The River Ridge Royal Knights fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Anclote Sharks on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Sharks 51-47. River Ridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Anclote apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Despite the loss, River Ridge saw an underclassman step up: Dareal KING scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points KING has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of TAURUS (TJ) BEAL, who scored 14 points.
River Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Anclote, their win bumped their record up to 3-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Ridge the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fivay at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Fivay is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62 points per game. As for Anclote, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Nature Coast Tech and Anclote are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
