A big 23-point third quarter helped carry
Plymouth (Ind.) to a 35-6 victory over
Elkhart Memorial (Elkhart, Ind.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Pilgrims led 12-6 at the half.
Plymouth expanded its lead to 29 points entering the fourth quarter. PHS scored five times in the third, including once on a touchdown run.
The loss was the fifth in a row for the Chargers.
Elkhart Memorial's
Dimetri Chatman was the standout player for his team. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown.
EM's lone touchdown came on a 6-yard pass from
Blake Kramer to Chatman in the second quarter.
The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which the Elkhart school took, 35-0.
In a Northern Lakes game next week Plymouth (3-2) takes on Wawasee, and Elkhart Memorial (0-5) will go up against Clay in a non-conference game.
