The Ann Sobrato Bulldogs will host the Oak Grove Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Thursday, Ann Sobrato came up short against Santa Teresa and fell 3-1. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 25-21 in the first set.
Ann Sobrato started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 28-26.
Meanwhile, Oak Grove didn't have quite enough to beat Silver Creek on Thursday and fell 3-2.
Oak Grove wouldn't go down easily and took Silver Creek into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 27-29, 15-13.
Ann Sobrato will have to keep a close watch on Gavin Rino and Ethan Chhoun, a pair of players who had a big impact on Oak Grove's prior game. Rino had 20 digs and two aces, while Chhoun had ten digs and three aces.
Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Ann Sobrato, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Ann Sobrato came out on top in a nail-biter against Oak Grove in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
