San Jacinto had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 10-13 to make it four. They lost 13-7 to Elsinore. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Elsinore this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-2 on April 9th.
Suriah Ortiz led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kamorah Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
As for Elsinore, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games.
On Elsinore's side, Isabella Wade and Breann Lipold made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Wade pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Meanwhile, Lipold pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wade went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Lipold went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Cassandra Wade was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylie Box, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, San Jacinto and Elsinore will both be playing Tahquitz the next time they take the field. Elsinore will head out to face Tahquitz at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, while San Jacinto will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
