After a string of nine wins, the Park Rapids Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crosby-Ironton. Park Rapids has not had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Park Rapids lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ryan Carroll, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Carroll hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Morris, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
Crosby-Ironton had a senior duo take command as Jackson Scull dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds and James Stokman almost dropped a triple-double on 22 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scull has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mount, who scored five points along with five assists.
Park Rapids' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Crosby-Ironton, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Park Rapids will head out on the road to face off against the Lakers at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Detroit Lakes knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matchups -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge. As for Crosby-Ironton, they will be playing at home against the Rebels at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Moose Lake/Willow River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Rangers are ranked 43rd).
