Baseball Recap: Clay Center Has No Trouble Against Buhler

Clay Center lost to Buhler on Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Crusaders 15-8. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Cole Pladson was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 3 runs per game. Colten Tadtman was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Clay Center always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Clay Center has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Buhler, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clay Center will welcome Hays on Thursday. As for Buhler, they will square off against Wellington at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wellington will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Buhler surely won't give up without a fight.
