The Chino Valley Cougars lost against the Payson Longhorns back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Chino Valley was beaten by Payson 57-16. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chino Valley in their matchups with Payson: they've now lost five in a row.
Payson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chloe Hancock led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Sarnowski, who scored 8 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Chino Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Payson, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Chino Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Show Low at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Payson, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Northwest Christian at 6:00 p.m.
